2025 saw the return of the Henfield Cubs camping at Broadstone Warren, a once annual event that stopped due to Covid and has now resumed.
This weekend our amazing 1st Henfield combined Cub Team (Adur and Arun Packs) delivered an amazing camp as Broadstone Warren.
Utilising the excellent facilities for adventurous activities, the Cubs had a weekend full of adventure and excitement.
The organisation and adults required to deliver such an experience is huge – it’s not just the time from Cubs arriving to departing- but all the administration in bookings and collecting payments , to collecting and transporting kit, to building camp, to ordering and cooking food, to detailed plans for the camp itself all this before the Cubs arrive.
On the camp the first cubs enjoyed climbing, crate stacking, aeroball and tunnelling as well as hikes and wide games.
Then once the Cubs go you have to pack up any remaining kit, transport it back to your stores and then unload and put it all back.
This is all by unpaid volunteers giving up their time for our cubs – so my sincere thanks and congratulations to the whole team – thank you you have made memories, and the skills learnt and challenges overcome will set them up life👍
