On the evening of the hottest day of the year, three Scout teams from 1st Henfield Scout Group took part in the Adur District annual Escape and Hunt.

Competing against Scout and Explorer teams from across the District, Henfields team proved themselves again , with navigation, hike skills and stamina.

Once envelopes containing gris references were handed out, teams had to locate them on a map, plan a route to cover as many as possible, and do that in the stated time.

Our three teams covered 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 miles over the evening – we didn’t record how much water they also drank but it was a lot including refills !

I am pleased to say once the results were in they came 1st, 2nd and 4th, an amazing achievement- so a massive congratulations to the Scouts, and adults that accompanied them.

Also a massive thank you to the Chris Davis, our ADC and his team on delivering a great evening.
