Following the last minute cancellation of the 2025 Downman Hike a number of members of our teams wanted still to try the route following all their training.
Today we managed to have Cubs, Scouts and adults all come together to walk the 15 mile Open route, albeit to aid logistics starting at Ditchling Beacon and finishing at Firle Beacon making a slightly longer route
The teams with Adults supporting both walking and support vehicles produced a magnificent effort – with the weather throwing up some challenging conditions including hail and some horizontal rain but with all demonstrating the never give up spirit they pushed through to compete in great times.
So a massive well done to our Adults – both walking and supporting on an amazing effort and for giving their Saturdays that was only superseded by the Cubs and Scouts aged 8 -12 who all should be very proud of their achievements.
