Tonight our fantastic Squirrels, along with their brilliant Leaders and Young leaders were taking part in obstacle races.
It was great to see the Squirrels enjoying themselves and working together as teams to guide blindfolded squirrels around the course and then further activities transporting water and other cub activities. This really shows the benefits of squirrels and Scouting at this young age – something I wish my kids could have benefited from (Scouting started at Beavers for them!)
But we need more people to help on a Thursday as we go into the next term, not to organise (unless you want to) but to be there supporting and making sure the squirrels have the support they need for that hour of fun and skills. We ask you to do a DBS , complete some online training and a first aid course we will provide.
If you are a parent and want your child in for September sign up now to complete the initial training ready for the new term .
If you are an new or existing parent and can’t do Thursdays – well we are still keen to open a session on another day, probably a Wednesday in Henfield and if we can get the adults from Partridge Green we would love to run a session in Partridge Green too . But we need the volunteers – so please get in touch if interested – email
GSL@henfieldscouts.co.uk if any questions.
