On this #FoundersDay it seemed appropriate to look back over 119 years of volunteering at 1st Henfield Scout Group with some pictures from 100 years ago

We can see from our records that from 1907 there were people giving up their time for the benefit of the youth of Henfield, names baked into the Groups History and were still very active 100 years ago – names such as Lt.Col Forrester -Colvin from Shermanbury Grange who was the first Henfield and District , DC and where the annual Scouts rally was held from 1911, and Frank Clarke who was a very active Hon. Secretary for many years, including composing hymns and being a principal benefactor to the Group.l with a legacy that continues to this day.

Also to all the many Group and Scout Masters/ Leaders/ Assistant Leaders/ Team Members and trustees who have volunteered for Henfield Scouts, Cubs, Rovers, Ventures, Beavers, Explorers and Squirrels over the past 119 years and to those that continue to do so – a massive thank you 🙏
