As a Scout Group we have always tried to be part of our village community – from Scout fetes at the Scout hut, to supporting the BP Guild Senior Citizen events, British Legion fundraising or environmental projects we have tried to support our community as best we can.

In recent times the Group have supported the Community with the Scouts helping at the annual Henfield BP Guilds Senior Citizens meals where they acted as very competently waiting tables, all sections have helped serve at events such as the Queens Jubilees teas at Red Oaks care home as well at the Henfield Garden and Arts events.  They have raised money for the Local  Community projects such as the Royal British Legion Poppy appeal, the Cubs raised money for the Henfield Area Response Team as well as other community projects including the Sussex Air Ambulance.  In addition the sections have all taken part in National campaigns such as Children in Need, Comic Relief and the various Blue Peter Appeals.

We have also been avid fundraisers for the replacement Scout Hut, where the Group have contributed well over £50,000 and with the Cubs alone raising over £4000 in their centenary year of 2018.  That is in addition to the hours of time given over to helping raise funds since the projects inception in 1997.

In 2023, with the return from Covid and established in our new premises – the Coronation of a new King the Group have renewed their Community engagement and were major participants in the community events where they have helped at Red Oaks for the Big Lunch and supported the Henfield Orchard project as part of the Big Help out

The Group also as expected turns out in formal every year for the Annual Henfield Remembrance Parade and Service – where we remember those from that paid the ultimate price  nas well as over parages such as the Jubilee parages in Partridge Green

We actively want to be even more engaged in the local community also are looking for a volunteer community liaison co-ordinator to help us engage with the community.
