Squirrels Scouts is the new section to scouting and caters for the 4 & 5 year olds, who were getting very impatient having to wait until they were 6 to be able to start their Scouting adventure with Beavers.
Henfield’s first Drey is called Tanyard Squirrel Scout Drey, and takes it name from the Groups old Venture Scout unit, that disbanded with the formation of the replacement Explorer Scouts.
It was a huge thrill at the annual Carol concert to present the first two Henfield Squirrel Scouts with their Chief Scout Acorn awards, something I am sure we will be presenting more in the very near future.
Our Squirrels have really taken to the fun of Scouting, and that is a huge credit to the all new leadership team at Squirrels – who are all parents and have done so well to build not just the section but the confidence and determination in all this cohort.
A success that is proven in the large waiting list we now have for Squirrels – but without more leaders from parents (and you will get priority for your child) we cannot open.
